ABOUT THE OWNER- DAVID L. RANSOM JR.

David L. Ransom Jr.  is the Owner and Founder of Hollywood Notary Dot Net, a Mobile Notary Service company located in Los Angeles, and operating since 2006. David has been a Notary Public since November of 2005.  David conceived of the company while working at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA.  David is an expert Mobile Notary Public and has extensive knowledge of most areas of Los Angeles County.

EDUCATION AND WORK BACKGROUND

David is a Los Angeles native. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics/Applied Science from UCLA (December 1987). David speaks and writes in English, Spanish and French.  His interests include: all things Disney, Acting,  Screenwriting, Art and Music.     David studied Acting and Screenwriting at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, and then studied Acting for 2 years at the Joanne Baron/DW Brown Studio in Santa Monica, California.  David has worked at Mann Theaters, Fed Ex Express, American Red Cross,  The Disney Store, and Disneyland, and Disney Vacation Club (told you he loves Disney!)

ADDITIONAL SERVICES TO NOTARY PUBLIC WORK

David discovered that people need Apostilles and Authentications shortly after becoming a Notary Public.  Today, Hollywood Notary Dot Net offers various services, including obtaining Certified Los Angeles County Real Estate Records, obtaining Certified Copies of Court Documents from the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County, and Submitting Documents for Recording at  the Los Angeles County Recorder’s office in Norwalk, California. David now offers Electronic Submission for Recordable Documents with almost all California Counties. 

A TRUE INTERNATIONAL NOTARY IN CALIFORNIA

By being an Agent for clients in getting Apostilles and legalizing documents for international use,  David has learned over time through experience (and some trial and error) all about preparing public documents (documents signed by public officials like Notaries) for use in other countries.  In addition to getting Apostilles from the California Secretary of State  and from the US Department of State in Washington DC, David has also obtained Apostilles from most other U.S. states for his clients.  He has also visited many local Consulates in Los Angeles, including China, Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and others. In partnership with two other firms,  David provides Document Legalization Services for  documents going to almost every foreign country in the world.     

EXPERIENCED LOAN SIGNING AGENT

David became a Loan Signing-Agent in 2006, in order to further his Notary experience.   He has presided over 2,000 loan closings.  David has experience in signing paperwork from all major lenders, including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, and Citibank. He has performed signings inside banks as well as at clients’ homes and businesses.

ERRORS AND OMISSIONS INSURANCE

As times have changed and other competitors have entered the field, David remains dedicated to maintaining his high standards and integrity.  David maintains an annual Errors and Omissions policy of $100,000.   He also has a separate Errors and Omissions policy of $1 million.

David publishes a longstanding blog, The Hollywood Notary (since 2006).  He also publishes a longstanding blog in Spanish, Servicios de Apostilla de California por Hollywood Notary Dot Net.    On Instagram, David is hollywoodnotary, and themoneynotary.  

OTHER BUSINESSES

David is currently building a nationwide network of Financial Planners, to bring Financial Education and Financial Literacy  to middle class and lower middle class people, who have traditionally been overlooked by the industry.  As baby boomers retire, he is looking to help people who are rapidly becoming seniors. David is actively looking for team members who want to be business owners themselves,  and want to be be a part of his team’s nationwide expansion into 15 cities in the USA, and 5 cites in Canada.

YOU TUBE CHANNEL

David recently created his You Tube channel, and will soon be publishing informative videos which focus on helping Notaries make their lives easier.  He will also focus on making content which shows Notaries and other self-employed people the power of saving their money, and planning for the future.
