We currently obtain California Authentications and Apostilles through the California Secretary of State’s office in Los Angeles.

Federal Apostilles and Authentications

We can help you obtain Apostilles from the US Dept. of Authentications in Virginia, for all Federal documents with original signatures which require Apostilles, including FBI Criminal Background checks.  Pricing begins at $240 per Federal Apostille, plus $125 for each additional in your order. Processing times for obtaining Federal Apostilles can be as little as 6 weeks for FBI Criminal Background Checks.  Current processing times for all other types of Federal documents is 10 to 12 weeks.

Document Legalization through Embassies/Consulates in the US

We can get your document legalized for use in foreign countries which do not subscribe to the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961.  We can legalize your important documents which will be used internationally, but which require further legalization through their Embassies or Consulates in the United States.  We visit these Consulates locally in Los Angeles County.  Working closely with our business partner in Washington DC, we are also able to submit documents directly to Embassies in Washington DC, such as the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China,  the United Arab Emirates Embassy (UAE Embassy) and the Kuwait Embassy.

Personal documents and corporate legal documents for which Apostilles are requested must be notarized by a Notary Public in California, whose signature is on file with the Secretary of State, who has taken the Oath of Office and whose commission has not been revoked. The notary certificates for such documents must comply with the current California requirements, or they will be rejected. Certified documents issued by the Superior Court of California, by any Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk of California, or by the California Secretary of State may also receive Apostilles or Authentications.

Document Approval

We should see your documents, or at least talk to you on the phone about them, before you send them.  You may either text a photo of your documents to us or send an email to hollywoodnotary@gmail.com, so that we may review your documents to make sure that they are eligible to receive an Apostille or other Authentication.

Payment For Services

We accept  payments by Cash, Credit and Debit Cards, Pay Pal Payments, U.S. Postal Money Orders, Business Checks (from approved businesses, which include large, well-known corporations and LLC’s), Disney Dollars,  Western Union, Venmo, Cash App and Zelle.   Please do not ship cash to us– we only collect it when we see you in person!

Document Pick-Up and Mobile Notary Services for Local Clients

For local clients (within a 25 mile radius of our Mid-City location), we provide Mobile Apostille Services and Mobile Notary Services.   Pickup and Mobile Notary Services start at $55.00, in addition to the cost of the Apostille Services that you need and shipping charges that you choose.  For Mobile Notary Services we charge $15.00 per notarized signature (on an Acknowledgment or Jurat).

Retrieving Your Documents

We can ship your documents using Fed Ex, DHL or USPS Priority Mail.    We charge $20 to ship your documents to any US Destination using Priority Mail.   You may also choose to  pick up your processed documents  at our  office, located at 1650 Virginia Road, by appointment only.  It’s easy to make a fast appointment- just call (323)393-5822 or (323)523-7430.
